Made with distilled water and vegan agar agar powder. Various nutritional recipes available. Details below:
Basic LME (light malt extract) - 2% LME. General purpose plates.
Low Nutrient LME - 0.5% LME. Slows growth and reduces contamination risk; useful for sensitive species or wild isolates. Can also aid in developing rhyzomorphic growth habits for all you agar-heads and pheno-hunters out there.
High Nitrogen - 1.5% LME, 0.5% yeast extract. Combines carbohydrate and nitrogen sources for rich, balanced nutrition; ideal for fast-growing, nutrient-demanding species.
All recipes can be ordered in Standard and Soft textures. 1.5% vs. 0.7% agar agar powder, respectively. Stiffer agar lends well to beginners as it tends to be easier to handle while softer agar is useful for transferring into liquid media.
Guaranteed sterile at time of sale. All plates sit in our lab for a minimum of 7 days to ensure no contamination is present.
